Overview

This course will help you to understand the importance of proper Respiratory Protective Equipment (RPE) use in hazardous workplace environments. You will learn about legislation, maintenance, the fit of various types of RPE, and be able to select adequate and suitable RPE for a given task or situation.

This course is suitable for employees, supervisors, contractors, and others who may use respiratory protective equipment or work in areas with respiratory hazards.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of the course, learners will be able to:

  • Explain the legislation, roles and responsibilities relating to RPE
  • Explain how to select appropriate RPE for a given task
  • Identify the various types of filters and their associated use
  • Identify the various types of RPE used offshore
  • Describe the factors to be aware for ensuring properly fitting RPE
  • Explain how to correctly maintain, store and dispose of RPE

Assessment

Learners are assessed through knowledge checks and assessment questions during the course. The course includes 5 questions.

Successful completion of the course will result in a certificate of completion issued by RelyOn.
