IWCF
The International Well Control Forum (IWCF) is a not for profit membership organisation established in 1992.
Their key aim is to develop and administer well control training, assessment and certification programmes for the exploration and production sector of the oil and gas industry.
They work closely with national regulatory bodies and key industry leaders, such as the International Association of Oil and Gas Producers (IOGP). Following on from IOGP’s recommendations in Report 476, new syllabi have been introduced for our Drilling Well Control and Well Intervention Pressure Control programmes. These programmes are split across five levels to provide employees with the necessary skill set for their role. By providing certified training through accredited centres IWCF want to prevent well control incidents from occurring.
IWCF programmes are delivered by a global network of accredited centres. All assessments are organised by IWCF and take place in closed book assessments. These are invigilated by independent invigilators to ensure correct practice is followed.
All IWCF certification is by issued Aberdeen Drilling International, with whom Samson Tiara partners to deliver IADC WellSharp training in Indonesia.
