Overview

This asbestos awareness course provides employees with a basic understanding of asbestos hazards, asbestos-containing materials (ACMs), and the precautions required to prevent accidental exposure. Participants will learn where asbestos may be encountered, the risks associated with disturbing ACMs, and the actions to take if suspicious materials are discovered in the workplace.

The course is aligned with relevant OSHA requirements relating to asbestos awareness and workplace safety. It is designed to help workers recognise asbestos hazards and understand their responsibilities for maintaining a safe working environment.

This course does not qualify participants to remove, disturb, repair, or otherwise work directly with asbestos-containing materials.

Who is it For

This course is suitable for employees, contractors, supervisors, maintenance personnel, and others who may encounter asbestos-containing materials during their work activities.

  • List procedures to follow when coming into unintentional contact with ACMs and the appropriate emergency arrangements

Assessment
