Advanced Firefighting

Advanced Firefighting is a PT Samson Tiara certified course designed to train offshore and onshore fire team members with the knowledge and practical skills required to respond safely and effectively to fire emergencies as part of an organised fire team.

Training combines classroom sessions with practical firefighting exercises. Delegates will cover basic fire theory, fire suppression equipment, personal protective equipment, self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA), extinguishing agents, foam application, water and twin-agent application, hose handling, fire streams, firefighting tactics, casualty recovery, and related equipment.

Practical exercises include fighting multiple fires with fire teams using hose lines, water, foam, and SCBA. Fire props may include Class A, B, and C fire scenarios, pans with and without obstacles, paint lockers, LPG impinging jets, XMAS tree fires, leaking flange fires, and large diameter hydrocarbon storage tank fires.

This course is intended for personnel who may be required to respond to fire emergencies as part of an offshore or onshore fire team, including:

• Offshore fire team members
• Onshore industrial fire team members
• Emergency response team members
• HSE personnel with firefighting responsibilities
• Operational personnel assigned to fire response duties
• Supervisors or team leaders involved in fire emergency response

The course is delivered over 3 days at PT Samson Tiara’s Cilegon training facility. Training includes classroom instruction, practical equipment handling, team-based firefighting drills, SCBA use, casualty recovery exercises, and live-fire scenarios.

Upon successful completion of this course, delegates should be deemed competent to operate as members of a fire team within the scope of the course.

• Selecting and using portable fire extinguishers safely and effectively.
• Handling hoses and applying fire streams during firefighting operations.
• Using foam and foam systems for appropriate fire scenarios.
• Understanding water and twin-agent application within firefighting operations.
• Using SCBA during firefighting and rescue-related activities.
• Supporting rapid trauma assessment and casualty recovery.
• Responding to live-fire scenarios using appropriate equipment, techniques, and team coordination.

Delegates must provide a valid medical certificate.

Delegates must successfully complete the course based on the required performance standards in order to receive certification.

Delegates who successfully complete the course and meet the required performance standards will receive:

• PT Samson Tiara Advanced Firefighting certificate.
• Laminated wallet course qualification card.
