Overview

This awareness course provides employees with an introduction to benzene, its hazards, and the precautions required to minimise exposure in the workplace. Participants will learn where benzene may be encountered, the potential short-term and long-term health effects of exposure, and the control measures used to reduce risk.

The course is aligned with relevant OSHA requirements relating to benzene exposure and workplace safety. It is designed to help workers recognise benzene hazards and understand their responsibilities for maintaining a safe working environment.

Employers should provide additional training whenever new hazards, procedures, work conditions, or equipment are introduced into the workplace. Refresher training may also be required to address identified knowledge gaps or unsafe work practices.
