Confined Space Safety – Entrant/Attendant

Confined Space Safety – Entrant/Attendant is a Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service (TEEX) certified course designed to provide workers and supervisors with the knowledge and practical skills required when working in confined space environments. The course provides training and certification appropriate for personnel assigned as Confined Space Entrants and Safety Attendants.

The programme covers confined space hazards, equipment, regulations, entry procedures, permit systems, atmospheric hazards, respiratory protection, and actions to be taken during a confined space emergency. Training is delivered through classroom instruction, group discussion, written assessment, and individual and team practical exercises.

Practical exercises are conducted in a confined space simulator using equipment such as portable gas detection systems, tripod and davit access and retrieval systems, communications equipment, respiratory protection equipment, lifelines, lockout equipment, self-rescue systems, ventilation equipment, harnesses, rope-based retrieval systems, SCBA, and supplied air respirator systems.

Medical and physical note: This is a physical training course. Delegates are expected to be in a good state of health and must be able to participate in all physical training requirements.

This course is intended for personnel who enter, attend, supervise, or support confined space work activities, including:

• Confined Space Entrants
• Confined Space Attendants
• Workers required to enter confined spaces
• Supervisors responsible for confined space activities
• HSE personnel involved in confined space safety
• Personnel supporting permit-controlled confined space work

The course is delivered over 2 days at PT Samson Tiara’s Cilegon training facility. Training includes classroom sessions, group discussions, written testing, practical exercises, and confined space simulator activities.

Upon successful completion of this course, delegates should be deemed competent to work as a Confined Space Entrant or Confined Space Attendant within the scope of the course.

Delegates are required to successfully complete written and practical testing in order to receive course certification.

Delegates who successfully complete the course and meet the required performance standards will receive:

• Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service (TEEX) Confined Space Safety – Entrant/Attendant certificate.
• Laminated wallet course qualification card.
